BLAHG
Blogging should be blahging because it's all a bunch of blah blah blah about whatever. Maybe I'll start a new word and use it in a scrabble game once it's accepted by the masses.
Anyway, we (I) have been majorly slacking with the ol' blog (or blahg). My faithful readers, Mom and Auntie Boe should be excited to read a new post (finally!). So…what's new….
Marathon Training!
I have officially started training for the San Diego Rock N Roll marathon. I have all my new warm running gear from Christmas to help motivate me through the cold 50 degree or less days here in SLO. My goal is to finish injury free, and then secondary to that is to finish in 4:40 or less. I met with the coach of the SLO Roadrunners Club last week and will likely join so I stay accountable and of course finish with my goal time of 4:40. My last marathon was 5:20, but I definitely did not train properly for it- so I want to do it right this time around. So far the training is easy, just lots of easy runs to build up mileage for the coming weeks, but I'm sure that will change quickly. : )
MacGyver
Oh MacGyver…such a good dog, but lately he has taken to chewing up stuff in our living room. We got him some new chew toys to hopefully deter chewing on illegal items such as photo albums and knick knacks- he's already eaten the barrel and who-haw off of Bryan's Filipino barrel man, destroyed portions of two photo albums, and a bunch of Christmas decorations. It all started with the Christmas décor actually. If the new chew toys don't work, we will try reversing his exercise schedule so he a run in the morning and walk in the evening in hopes he will be a log dog all day. Then, final steps will be doggy day care a couple times a week.
Bryan Turned 29
In December, Bryan turned the ripe old age of 29 making us now the same age so I don't have to take any crap about being older until I turn 30 in October. Yay! For his birthday he got a smoker from me, his parents, and his Kristine and her husband Chris. So far, he has smoked a pork shoulder, chicken and a turkey. They were all delicious. We can't wait until the weather improves so we can eat more smoked meat.
San Francisco
This month I went with some girlfriends to SF. You can check tagged photos of me in Facebook to see some of the trip, or befriend Gioia Woo who takes a zillion pics. I am a bad photographer (in addition to being a bad blogger) so I just rely on others to post photos of me. J The trip was a ton of fun- lots of eating and shopping!
Houses
We are still renting our cute little house in SLO. We hope at some point to get a place of our own; we are happy for now, but getting antsy. In March, we'll be done with all credit card debt (namely, my credit card debt…Bryan was wise and didn't get himself into trouble in college). We will have paid off about 17,000 worth of debt in a little less than 3 years, so it will be a huge relief! Woohoo!
Hum…I can't think of much else now and I need to get to my marathon training. Today is a 25 minute run…easy!
